Air New Zealand has launched a new flight route from Auckland to Western Sydney, marking a significant expansion in its domestic network. The service, which began on April 1, connects the capital city with a less-traveled part of New Zealand’s largest state.
The new route operates three times weekly, offering travelers a direct connection between Auckland and Western Sydney. This development comes as part of Air New Zealand’s strategy to enhance connectivity to regional areas. The airline has emphasized that the route provides access to a destination that many New Zealanders have not previously considered.
This expansion follows a series of recent route adjustments aimed at improving access to underserved parts of the country. Air New Zealand has previously introduced services to smaller towns and regional hubs, reflecting a broader effort to support local economies and tourism. The new route is expected to contribute to increased visitor numbers and economic activity in Western Sydney.
